Women can !!!

These days, most of the days were raining. The sky was heavy with cloud, grey and thick. Like it is going to blanket u, leaving u with no breath. The only entertainment that we have apart from the TV news and 8pm thru 11pm sitcom, we were observing how people manuvour the giant trucks behind our apartment narrow alley.

This afternoon, there was this lady who drove a truck to pick up a loaded Ring-A-Binn bin filled with next door tree trunks and leave and what ever debris they managed to gather from the surrounding of the house. At first I was not so sure it was a woman or man, can't tell from the oversized cloth and the big rain coat that he/she were wearing. After she had covered the bin with a giant canvas and crawled back to the driver seat, I was confirmed that it was a her with nice curly golden hair. She moved the bin loader arm with skill and at the same time have to manuvour the big truck to load the giant bin in position. No problem at all !!!

I waved bye-bye to her from the balcony window and urged Dylan to did the same. As usual, he only waved when the truck was out of sight. :)

North Vancouver

Today we had Farokh's friend Kourash who lives in North Vancouver brought us around in his VW. We couldn't get our selves ready by the time he arrived to pick us up. I was just about to take shower for Dylan when he reached...

We visited the Londale Quay Market, a reasonable priced Iranian grocery shop and Capilano Mall. We bought at Tri-cycle there for Dylan. The weather is not too bad although it was a cloudy day and it still is as I am writing this.

e have a free used display cabinet given by a friend's father in law. He got new place to hide !!

Deer Lake Park

We went to Deer Lake Park on Sunday. It was a cold day. My hand was freezing. Dylan was sleeping all the while starting from the bus trip. I tot he will wake up when I strolled him on at bumpy path.... But he slept on. Only until I reached the Esso station where Farokh worked, then only he woke up... He missed out all the nice picture that I wanted to take for him.

We went to the boat renting plaace. There Dylan had a few swing all by himself. I hope there is such swing in Malaysia too !!!

We were back by 7pm too after waiting for the bus like 45 minutes. Wow!!! My hand was freezing again. Dylan was wearing 4 shirts, I hoped he doesn't feel cold :P... only his leg is cold when I took off his shoes and sock .... ;P

Cleaniness is my concern now ...

We went to Loughheed Mall on Saturday. My intention is to seek after an affordable vacumm cleaner. My apartment has not been vacummed since we moved in. U know, with all the food that Dylan dropped on the floor and cat's shedding. I don't want to imagine what is happening on the carpet floor right now... just keep an eye closed.

Well, got a Dirt Devel Dynamite on promotional price. Dunno what was the usual price. But this one, I think we still can afford - for CDN$55-$60. Can't remember the exact price. One of these days, Farokh will hv to get it. Hopefully it will not too late b4 the price changed!!!

Ah, we took a bus trip there. Oh my god, the bus went into all the housing area, turning here and there. It made me headache by the end of road trip. When I reached, (with Dylan sound aslept in his stroller), I have to figure out where is Wal-Mart. There are SEARS, BAY, SAFEWAY, SPORTCHECK.... There it goes, Wal-Mart sign said go straight ahead. We walk across Austin Road. We were in Bay Outfitter, went thru it and I was in another shopping paradise.... Can't find Wal-Mart.... well, just walked ahead, oh... it is at the second floor there ... got to find an elevator now... walked back to where I came from, yes, the elevator is right beside the Lotto stall !!

We spend hours in Wal-Mart. Looking for the vacumm cleaner, got which model I want. Looking up to see where is chidren's toy area. Yes, straight ahead. Pick up free food sample - some flake, for Dylan, on the way. While he was busy munchingon the snack, I checked on the smallest plastic bicycle. It was around $40. Put Dylan on another bigger one, his leg can reach the pedal, but the hand handle is too high and wide for him to grip. No, this one definitely he will fail down in no time. Went back to the rubber one. Yes, he is doing fine but the feet can't reach the pedal in front. So he put his feet on the floor to go back and forth... Oh no, now he did't want to come out of the wheel.... A nice gentleman helped to settle Dylan back on his stroller again. Of coz with tear all over.

We went to the toys and got him a Rumble Truck. I let him play all the other toys. why not !

The store is closing soon at 6pm. Here all the stores closed early. Friday has longer business hour. I grap a Peppercorn grinder, a potato chips snack and said good-bye to wal-mart.

I took the skytrain back this train, less headache. Was home by 7pm something. We were out at around 2:30 pm.

I just heat up some canned bean and stir an egg to our leftover food from yesterday. Ah... we had to go toilet after that... guess the food was no good oredy... Dylan just had a bottle of milk and few spoonful of the not so nice food... :P But I gave him plate full of grape.... that was our dinner then...

We are in Canada

We have recently moved to canada on the 9 Sept 2006. Hahaha... people who concern we might have problem in getting into the flight !! U know, becoz of the tighter security in airport and it was close to 911!!! We were travelling ok, except, when in Taiwan, boarding to leave for Canada, farokh's passport is under scrutiny. Farokh was very upset. I told him to show them his PR card. Finally they apologied. We have a nicer seating, economic plus++ The seat are wider. Boy boy basinet was too small for him. The bassinet actually half drop off when he awake for the first time. We put him on the floor. Later the flight attendant told us it was not safe for small people to sleep on the floor... So no choice, i had hugged him on the body. and of coz his body keep sliding down.... there,.... sleepless nite/day ....

Bukit Tinggi Weekend and Stairs Climbing

Hi Hi every body out there... long time no write. My apologize. Tight up with training in office. Not at my desk all the time.

Well, I let my boy experience stair climbing. I guess he likes the climbing. He climbed from the first step to the half-way rest area then play for a while there. When daddy finished his shower, he guided him thru the rest of the stair :) Guess we need to buy something to block the stairway in the future.

However, he hasn't known how to walk yet. Don't know if it is becoz of getting use to the walker o no...

Over the last weekend we were at Bukit Tinggi french village area. Got some nice photos taken with all of us inside there. Boy boy saw is first swan :D both white and black colours type. The weather is a bit hot up there. and the food is exhobitly expensive too !!!

Communication Breakdown

I had total communication breakdown with my parent-in-law. The mother can't speak English, so that is out of the question. The father does speak, but he doesn't seem to like talk a lot. I bet they stay at home daily just to watch TV. So far we only brought them to shopping mall. One time in Jusco Maluri, another time is at Carrefour Sri Petaling. But the trip is an hurry, coz we depart quite late from our home, around 7-8pm.
I had asked daddy to book bus shuttle to Genting, so we can bring them to some cool places. They said the weather is hot here in Malaysia.

I had asked to bring Dylan back home earlier every day, if they feel like it. But so far they didn't do so. *sign*

As for food, they have their own kind of food. On Sunday, I cooked a brinjal dish which I thought may suite their taste by putting curry powder, pepper. But they didn't eat it at all. At the end of the next day, I throw it in the rubbish bin. What a waste. I guess next time I will just let them do the cooking.

First Teeth

I am feel with great joy. Dylan first teeth come out from the gum. I noticed it when I fed him his finger food - bread with strawberry jam, while having my dinner. At first I thought the bread piece stuck there. But it cannot be staying there for so long. I took a closer look, ya.... it is there, the tiny thing. It is the one at the lower gum, right "door" teeth (translate from Mandarin). How is it called in English ?? The neighbouring teeth is vividly visible too. I bet today it will also see its first day light :)

Hey, Dylan didn't have fever or diarhrea as in normal teething baby, which is a relieve. Well, touch wood.... although he has pretty bad diarhrea few month ago. I don't want it to happen again. It hurts on his butt.... red red one, have to put some cream. Even when I took shower for him, he also can feel pain....

Munchy Boy

We have a munchy boy here. Whenever he sees us eating something, he sure want to have it too. So b4 u eat something, u need to prepare his food - finger food for baby as it is named. I used to buy baby finger food in the form of biscuits from Gerber or from Nestle. Now I gave sliced and finely chopped fruits such as banana, apple, orange, adult biscult, toasted bread and noodle (when we have meal at shop houses)...

When he sensed that his mouth is empty, he will make noise, thundering noise to the point of crying out loud !!! The only way to make him calm down is to feed him some thing. So I am not sure if his stomach is over working to digest his food. Non-rest organ apart from his other vital organs :)

He dislikes water. We have to cheat him by spooning him water in between finger food feeding. He is smart to push the spoon away after each 3rd feed of water .... :) and of coz followed by loud weaning...

I am waiting for him to have teeth. So far the gum is a bit swollen. So I guess they will be out in 1 or 2 month time. Then may be he can chew some more solid food. The last time I feed him carrot slices, he can't swallow it and he cough it out :(

Although he ate a lot, but he doesn't seem to gain weight much. Will have him weighted this weekend....

Arrival of Iranian Grandpa & Grandma

Finally they are here, after 2 hours flight delays.... Me and Dylan had been waiting at home from 2pm till 5:30 pm. We falled asleep while waiting.

They look like typical iranian. The mother give me a cheek to cheek touch. It is their way of greeting people. Dylan was still on my arm having his milk, also had the same treatment. He was alarmed by the arrival of new people and stop drinking his milk....

Got a big problem communicate with the mother. She can't speak english and i can't speak Farsi !!!
The grandpa can speak good English. His sound is like a jeneral ... very strong and deep.

Try to attach the picture... can't seen to find a way now...

Still A Sickly Kid

Dylan's running nose although is getting better, but occasionally there are still thing coming out from the nostril. Especially when he cried. He cries a lot nowaday. Not that he is hungry, but we think he want people to carry him. He doesn't like to stay in the walker for too long, unless u are feeding him something. His dad just bought him a mini LEGO set for RM 70. It will only keep his attention for 10 minutes every time. *sign*.... kid is kid....

Did I tell u all that his Iranian grandpa will be coming this weekend? funny is they haven't collected they visa from Malaysian goverment at Teheran, but oredy buy air-ticket and pack every thing, ready to fly :D Hopefully Malaysia goverment didn't give them too much trouble. As part of the visa application process, Farokh oredy sent them a invitation letter. Also they re not staying in Teheran, have to travel about 4 hours to get there. But they stays at the cousin house in Teheran..... Can't wait to see them :D U think i should dress nicely and put make up to meet them up in the airport ??? hahahahaha......

Cheezzz with Grandpa

I did remember carried back the camera back yesterday. Dylan is in crying mood nowaday. Very difficult to get him show his lovely smile. But we manage to take some good pictures with Grandpa.

Dad fixed the wind chime at the door entrance. Dylan is always fascinated by the wind chime hanged at the entrance of nanny living room.

Will publish the pictures when I get in reduced in size :)

Eventful Days

Ah, I didn't update this blog for quite some time oredy. My sister Ruth was wondering if I am still working with FX. She thought I was disconnected from the world again :) That is very sweet of her to concern about me :)

I had been involved with my company celebrating 40th anniversary at Hotel Istana, DocuWorld'06. If u go to FX web site, u will see the advertisement. But don't know now they took it down oredy or no.

Dylan grandpa was here last Thursday nite. We were late to pick him up from the LRT station. He stayed at KLIA airport most of the afternoon. I was stuck at DocuWorld, wondering when they were going to wrap the event. Luckily by 7pm I was able to leave. But Farokh were back earlier, so he picked up dad first.

Dylan was shy with grandpa at first in the car. After a while, he lied cozily in his lap. Dylan was having running nose again... sign... I forgot to bring back camera to take his pic with grandpa. Just now I just put the camera to bring home with me tonite.... :P

I just finished two pack of duck dish from Sibu. Only me was eating. Now I got sore throat from lack of water.

Dylan First Wave and his stand

Last Thursday, when I was just get back from work, Dad and Dylan were at the garden yard. Dad was asking Dylan to say bye-bye and he is waving at me using his right hand !!! I was very emotional, seeing this. The nanny had tought him how to wave. Then during his snack time, I waved at him saying bye-bye, he also wave back ... I laughed hilariously, coz he look so innocent, waving at any time :)

Ah... that is the day, when I took daddy's house key to work too !! Luckily he uses the side door to go out :) I was almost panic when I found out that I got 2 door keys with me... coz it will be a long way to go back home again and then I have something important at 10am...

These few days, Dylan was seen standing by himself for a few seconds. It was most noticebly when he was put in his bed. His hand will be rising on the air and tried to balance himself, then will hold on the the bed grib again for balance :)

Working mum...

Yesterday while on the way to Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam, accompanying my colleague, we were talking about having a kid while u are working. I learn from her that a lot of our colleague in Fuji Xerox has been married for year but didn't has kid. That include my boss who turns 45 today. During yesterday morning session with him, he said that he was working very hard to get where he is today.... When he talked about time management, he occasionally mention about me, "Doris should know, she is a wife and a mum". Now I am wondering why she said it. Did he expect me to work as hard as him or he is understand that if I didn't put much effort in my job...

As my colleague told me, they can't have kid coz of their busy tight schedule. I went out with her to see only 2 customers, but it took 3 hours for a short conversation. First thing was she didn't make an appointment and drop by. The woman she want to see is having a discussion, then she went for a prayer. That one we wasted 1 hour reading magazine at reading corner. At the end, she just passed to her a proposal and the customer requested her to provide them a pin for the usage of the copier. That was like only 15 minutes.
The 2nd one also just need to invite them to come for a demostration session in Fuji Xerox office.

For me, it wasted time. According to her, they need to go out to see customer just to say hi.... In office u can't do proposal, u can do it after office hour. ah... I don't know whether I can do the same or no...

I pasted Dylan 6 month old passport photo on a calendar, rested on my office desk. It was taken in Sibu Sarawak. when we planned to collect his passport from the Sibu Immigration office. Unfortunately, the issuance of the passport didn't go well. It is because the application record is done at Kajang, Selangor. I had waited long time to get it done, coz think that RM 300 is a lot to pay for if it is not used in near future. At least that was the amount told by me at the Selangor immigration office. Father advise me to get it done sooner. So at the end, when I come back from Sibu, I collect the passport, paying RM 150 only !!!
I was bored in office reading document on the software product. Chao oredy at around 5:05 pm. Reach home and do some ironing and cooking b4 I picked up Dylan from neighbour. Eei, Dylan come to me when I call him in nanny house :) Normally he is too busy to notice i call him. Busy with the kids running around him ....

In Freshly Painted Bedroom

Dad finished painting and fixing up our bedroom. We painted it with rosy pink colour. Look very nice under the bedroom light. Dylan and me sleep there at nite.
Went out to have small stroll in the neighbourhood. One couple from the 2 and half storey adored him so much. They said he is very responsive and was excited that Dylan tried to communicate with them. They have a 2 year old son who lives with the grand-parent house.
The poridge that I cooked for dylan tasted a little weird. Too fishy. For his dinner, I put some ginger juice to make it taste nicer..... He liked it better than the lunch.

A Day with Dad

I left Dylan with the dad, as the nanny had taken a trip to Ipoh with her sister. Dad said Dylan is a good boy as he didn't cry much. But he didn't sleep a lot. Then we drove to shop houses wanted to have dinner, he falled asleep. So we ended up pack back our food. He slept until 11 pm when I feed him rice cereal before the long night ahead.

Chinese New Year 2006

Just came back from long holiday, our Chinese New Year. I wishes it will last forever... but of coz it is impossible.

Didn't go out visiting, with sick Dylan, running nose and cough. He got Ang Pao from nanny the very first early morning. Mother at Kuching said she also has some from grandma and herself, ask me to sms my account number to her....

Spending times painting my room the second day, coz it is boring to stare into walls and TV. Farokh continues my job the next day after seeing and laughing at my bruises....

baby dylan wailing sound is kind of our background sound nowaday.... constantly wanting attention whenever he is not sleeping !

Hi,
I am excited about creating this blog to share my motherhood experience with u out there, who ever u are.... I just become a mother a little 9 month ago. I am blessed with a baby boy, Dylan. His arrival mark my life major milestone.

The picture shown here is taken when he is about 7 months old. Just got his hair shaved for the first time. Now he has a full grown hair head....

I have been taking care of him on/off since he is born. On/off becoz i have been working and then resign, then start a new job again. As of now, i am working again. He has nanny just living next door.

He is a very naughty boy now, start to explore every thing around him. And will eat anything that I gave to him. So didn't know what I gave him until he got a diarhrea last few day. following day, his immune system get weaker, then catch cold now .... sign ....
