Emotional Kid

I guess my son is an emotional human as me. When the sleeping time is coming and there is nothing that is occupying his brain, he will recall all the things that is happening during his day. And mummy is a good place to share his day. What does his friend said or did, what song had he learnt today, what colour of his friend's birthday cake, why his teacher always angry him, how jie-jie had to go upstairs and play up there, instead of playing with him.

Before that if I asked what he did at school or nanny place, his standard answer is Nothing :).

I hope he will always remember he can always talk to me although I am a fierce mum during the days :)

Swimming milestone

Yesterday was another Maal Hijrah public holiday. I brought Dylan to the club for a swim. It had been 3 months past since we deep into that pool. Raining and the obsession to play with his bike is the main reason. The day was not hot and there is a lot clear cloud that shun the sunlight. So I thought is a good time to try for a swim.

I purposely didn't bring his round float and instead I brought his arm float and flat float. Dylan is a big boy now. He didn't complain when I asked him to put on his arm-float. We tried it on the kid pool for a start. After a few tries, he threw away his flat float and was happily paddling away with his arm float. I am so proud of him... And suddenly he said he can put his head into the water and see the water underneath !! He was quite please with himself. He said, mummy, u didn't say U are proud of me ah.. hahaha.. Yes, he likes re-assurrance... Of coz, he had swallowed a few mouth of pool water. He asked me if the pool water will be finished by him or not ... hahaha... so funny. Of coz, it won't, silly... Then how the water will be finished ? Well, when they drain the water for pool cleaning la... hahaha...

I hope his love for swimming will sustain so that he can improve on it... Good job, boy!

Happy Mum.

Quiting a job for more than 15 years

Today I learnt that 2 my ex-colleauges are quiting their job of 12 years and 15 years respectively. It is a difficult decision for them. I think if I am in their shoe, I will also feel the same. When I was younger, I tell my self to work hard to save lots of money and will do what I can to achieve that. My mom and dad are always a non-believer of job hoping. There were in teaching profession for more than 30 years. My sister in Miri also is holding to her current for donkey years even though it didn't give her a good pay.

I quit my first company after 7 years !! At that time I didn't feel as emotional as this friend of mine. I just want to leave that damn place after seeing things that is happening there. Most of my friends of same batch had already long left and I felt that I should hv nothing to hold me back. So I took the plunge also.

In current company, i have worked for 3 full years and now I am thinking of quiting too !! :P After all this year, I am really not very happy with my life and would like to try some thing else... I am still wondering where and what I should do.... I hope God will show me the way...

Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2010

Yah, I think I should write about it. This is another personal achievement in my life - running a marathon. During April 2010, my colleague, Ms Samathan Lee, who had taken part in last year Marathon, invitde me to join her in the run. At that time, I was busy preparing demo for our bread and butter customer and feeling preasure and down and despressed with my work life, I thought, why not ? That is something different than mountain climbing. That's how I asked her to sign me up immediately. From then, there is no turning back. I had always thought of running the Penang Bridge marathon since I started working in Penang soon after graduating from USM and until now I haven't fullfilled the dream yet. Also, I thought I will be star in the atheletic field during school day if not for my parent who is very academic oriented. From then, my mind is focusing on this marathon. I started practicing after work with Ms Lee and others at KLCC park every other day if possible. I run for 2 rounds as a start and then increased to 3 rounds in June 2010. When the time almost near the actual running day, I tried running Sg Long big round which is 6.3 KM which took me 1 hour time, training 45 minutes for 2 of the weekend.

And I make it. My gun time is 1:34 and my net time is 1:28:18 !!! Bravo... and I am still thrilled with my achievement. hahahaha LOL.... LOL....

Although I feel body ache and leg pain now (it is recovering) I think it worth it !! And luckily my 'sister' came a few day before the run... hahaha.

Holistic Approach to Pregnancy

I have been trying to get pregnant since my last miscarriage about one and half year ago. This include eating some EPO to resolve my headache problem. Hubby has been working hard on this too. So far there is no sign of pregnancy yet. It come to a point that I almost give up on it. Then I read on this Holistic Approach to Pregnancy. It involve changing your diet and restore your body and spirit to a balance state. May be I should try this!!

Telephone appointment with my dear

Yesterday I joined Dylan's school field trip to Domino Pizza Taman Connaught, TUDM gallery and Vitagen factory. We paid RM 130 for the trip. It was a good experience for me to Y
Then it happened again every time I did this go-together thing with Dylan. He refused to go to nanny place the next day when the school was off for the day. I had to tell white lies just to get him agreed to go to nanny place. ie, office had police that will detain any children in sight, that I worked in other office already, that I will bring him to library after I worked, and finally he agreed on calling him before he sleep in the afternoon. So I set a reminder in my handphone to call him by 12:45 pm. I was in a meeting and I sneak out finally at 1:18 pm to give him a call. Nanny said he was sleeping already. I asked her to wake him up. If not, he will blame me later for not keeping promise. When he finally woke up and called mummy, my tear starts rolling down... asking him if he sleep already, if he had his lunch, and that I will bring him to library this evening when I get back. At the end, he was just nodding his head at the other side of the line. After that, I said bye-bye and asked him to sleep some more. Oh... how my heart is aching... I quickly go to toilet to clear my tears before continuing the QA meeting... I LOVE U DYLAN !!

Today my parent is leaving for Singapore, in part of their series of journey to West Malaysia, now going to explore the new casino thingy in Singapore. My sister's family had long departed to US on the 3th May 2010. Now just left three of us and my pet, Bunny and Mimi.

Kind of missing the full house feeling, altho I was lacking ton of my beauty sleep for long time :)

Hopefully my sister's family in Miri will be able to make the trip during year-end!

Appreciating Your Child!

One of the mummy of my son's Tick Tock Beat class lend me a book entitled is 欣赏你的孩子 by 张弘. The author himself has a deaf daughter since 1 year olds who turn out to be a genius down her life time. This book has enlightened me on various mistakes that I had made in communicating with my son. It emphasized on not belittling him but to highlighting his strong points. For example, if he has homework that have 10 questions and he did only one correctly, instead of start to get aggigated and soaring and blaming him for the rest of the wrong answers, I have to phrase him for the correct one !! Also, it had an example by a well-known Japanese Violionist on how he teached his son, 玲木. He quoted as saying that his son if can get thru passing mark is consider passed la !! No need to get 100 mark ! It reflected on me too. When I attended some course that required some sort of exam, I was happy even I just passed and will not want to sulk at the result. Instead of concentrating on school work, as long as his son finish his school work, he should use other time to read others non-school related book. This bring a great enjoyment to his son life-long learning experience.

I have only managed to read only a quarter of it and I am sleepless over it already. Today I got panda eyes!!!

Panasonic is 松下

This morning was reading newspaper while doing my business, an magazine from Nanyang San Bao, don't know from which weekend. The cover was the MD of Panasonic Malaysia Sdn Bhd, who is a Malaysian. From the article, I only know Panasonic in Japanese people calls it 松下. Wow, I respected him. Sorry, can't remember his name, was never good at remembering thing at one glance. Apparently he worked for Panasonic for 27 years to his current position. Recently I keep in touch with my old secondary school friend who was also working in Panasonic Malaysia for a few years already but had since quited it 2 years ago. She expressed in her blog that how hectic the work life was like in Giant Japanese multinational company. This guy must have work his ass out and the Headquarter in Japan is trusting him so much to give him this position. Gambateh !! Yes, Chinese boleh !!

After reading a news in The Sun today, I finally got the name of the MD, Jeff Lee.

Bunny Dissappearance

This morning I let my bunny went out for a morning walk by itself as usual. That was around 8:30 am. Later at around 9:30 am, my son was shouting high and low that it was no more in the garden. I thought it will be just outside the gate as usual and will hop back when it was done with its exploration. hmmm.... but it didn't. We were just about getting ready to go out to the market to have breakfast. So we just left la.

When we came back, it was still not there !!! I was worried and was wondering when it went. Nevertheless we still got ready and went to mid-valley for some window shopping. After we were back it was still not there wor !! I walked around the neighbourhood under the torching sun and making my 'ju ju' sound hoping to attract his attention and hop back. Still no sight of him ... I was wishing he was taking a nap somewhere. And also partially comforting myself that may be it is a good thing. No need to be bother with rabbit cleaning every day now and get bargain for cheap carrot. Now I know how much 1 kg of carrot is cost !! At least RM 4/kg !!

After waking up from my afternoon nap, finish preparing for dinner, I went out scouting again. Still no sight of it hoping away nearby. When I just about giving up, mum was saying the bunny is back!! He was in his cage munching away hungrily !!! I was so happy and poured it a treat.

Hubby still refused to fence the gate for me... damn !!

Home Streamyx Wireless is Up!

My streamyx is finally up at home last nite at around 10:30 pm almost after 10 days registration. Before that I was cursing of the lauzy service provided by TM. But after last nite, I realized the fault is actually at my end, ==> I think I key in the wrong default login password la !!

However, here I would like to thank to the Customer Care staff to call me back to confirm if my service is up after they fixed some fuse problem somewhere and also they keep their promise to call me at nite to check with me again and finally help me realizing my mistake. It has eliminate my need to sneak back home today to entertain the techinician who is supposingly will pay me a visit if every effort that they did out was in vain.

Now Dylan can play his alphabet games on line. How cool is it !! I will try to upload some photos to facebook to test the speed also tonite.

Hooray !!

Streamyx or not?!

Two weeks ago, I took up the courage to apply for Streamyx broadband inspite of all the complaints that I heard on the poor internet service. I guess I have no other choice, do I? The only service that is available at my place is the Streamyx. Others service are at 'border-line' quality at my area already, according to the agent.

That was before the Hari Raya holiday. I thought I will be connected during the Raya holiday and have a great time surfing. Bad move, all the technicians of telekom are on leave. And now after 2 days, my line is still not activated. The same excuse is given, technicians are on leave ah !! They are hoping to get me up within this week.

I guess that will be my wishful thinking huh !!

Computer Aided Education

Recently, I have come to know that u really can't run away from computer role in education. It is everywhere.
First time I know the importance of it is when I start looking for printed material to teach phonic to my son. And I found this StarFall website that have a have variety of teaching material. But that of coz u have to do it online.
Next exposure was when I was invited to attend a seminar held by Tick Tock Beat organized by We Share We Care Educationist group. The main aim is to learn how to encourage study in school student. This group are all composed of top grade students in the country. At last, the method that they introduce are not other than a series of computer aided class material that complement school syllabus.
Today, I recieved an email from the Asipirasi Book Store that I joined not long ago. It was about a talk by WaWaYaYa sales team and it had a YouTube link. It was also another computer aided learning literature on how to master maths 'happily'.

Except the first one, the other later two are all using gaming method to encourage student to do the course. They are using the playful mind set to encourage study. One of the games looks rather violent t me though.

All this while, I was rather against kids to spent hours of time in computer especially for leisure purpose. Dylan has been exposed to computer aid teaching in Q-dees also. I guess it is a force that you cannot denied. Computer is every where and we as parent just have to make sure we put a good use to it.

All this analysis and make up my mind to sign up for the broadband service at my home. The only available service to me right now is Streamyx.

First Sex Education

Last Saturday, after shower, as usual, I asked him to wear his pyjamas to get ready to sleep. After a while, I notice he was bending sitting on the bed looking at his 'ti-ti'. I thought he was playing with it and give him a stern 'hey'. He turned around and ask me what is the black things below his ti-ti. I was amused at his question and decided to give me a true answer. I told him it is part of his ti-ti and is used to produce baby when he is older. He said he doesn't like it. I start to laugh at him for his cute expression. He is also try to beat it. I had to ask him to stop. And have to explain to him again the usage. I told him only boys have them. Then he asked if Hor Wei Shuan has it, so I told him yes, he is a boy so he has it too!! Likewise, TaJie and ErJie and ShuiYeeJieJie don't have it. Later he seemed to be accepting his ti-ti counterpart. hehehe.

十周年纪念晚会

在公司自己托别人影印的日历里，记载着七月一号是公司成立十周年纪念日。前一个星期，我的一个同事问我那天是不是放假。我笑笑说，那有这么好呢？不要有甚么期望吧！另一个同事说，前些时候，在谈话中，老板娘说不一定举办一个郊游旅团到坡德申去。好了，就等着等着，终于有一天人事部来了一个信说，3thJuly星起五将有一个公司晚餐，但是地点未定哦！嗨呀，人事部真会卖关子！我们就开玩笑的说，不要再又是老板有股份的那间酒吧吧？如果是的话，不去也罢。。。我可是牺生了我儿子的音乐班呢！

到了约定的前一天，人事部又补了一篇信公布说，晚餐到附近的Quartro Autumn Club。啊，终于换了地点了。希望Quartro的食物会比较特别一点，还想可能有套餐甚么的。
时候到了，就大伙儿浩浩荡荡的挂约了。当食物送上时，食欲就减了一半了。食物还差过Ramralah 呢！这就是所为的纪念晚餐吗？真是大失所望了。不是我一个人有这个想法，而是有一班同事都这样认为。

不过，这个聚会有一个奖励会。当天，那些办事能力超强的同事都受到更定了。那天晚上，平时不沾酒的他，也拿吃起酒杯去到个个桌子干杯了！我也不列外。哈哈哈！好多个同事都醉倒呢! 还有他也趁机说了他改变的人生观，因为最近经过了不少的生离死别！她也说了她要去Wimbleton的梦想.

这些点点滴滴是我在这个聚会所留下的回忆！

为甚么？

最近儿子一直把‘为甚么’褂在嘴里。什么事情都以'为甚么' 开头，常常问到我找不到适当的答案，也答得不够快。

我记得邻家的一个小孩以前也是一样一直问‘为甚么’。

每次的‘为甚么’的口舌战都由他引发的.

‘为甚么海天衣服湿了？’‘因为他在雨里踢球。’

‘为甚么他在雨里踢球？’‘因为他不要进屋去。’

‘为甚么他不要进屋去？’‘因为他还要玩。’

‘为甚么他还要玩？’‘因为他玩不够嘛。’

‘为甚么他玩不够？’。。。我哑口无言。。。

该怎么办呢！

第一次剪头发

昨天，第一次带了儿子去阿pui 那儿剪了一头漂亮的短发。他一动也不动的给人剪，不象过去小时候苦到间完！

昨天的成绩都归功于奶妈。事情是这样的。丈夫要到加影的巴刹买些牛肉。我就顺口问奶妈一起去了。在车上，奶妈不知这的开始一直提起Dylan的头发很长了。说她剪的很慢，Dylan一直投诉。又说姐姐们昨天才剪的。一路上一直游说他去剪头发。

“我等一下买糖果给你吃呀！”
“你要我去你的家，你剪了头发，我就去你家！“
“阿姨剪头发很漂亮的！”
“你坐在那边剪，我去买糖子给你！“
等等....

最后他终于答应了!奶妈说,她得喝杯水才行... 花了她一大半口水！

剪了一头短发，他自己也很喜欢，临走时还很有礼貌的谢谢了阿姨。

过后，阿boy又说明天还要在去剪呀！

我看他100%像及他的爸爸，很爱漂亮。不时不时看一下镜子欣赏他的头发，还赞赞自喜呢！

啊,从今以后得规划每一两个月带dylan去剪剪头发了！

和父亲相处的日子

趁着父亲69生日， 三个月以前，就建议父亲来吉隆坡来庆祝。父亲原本没那个念头要来。说他比较喜欢那笔飞机票的钱！真是经典的他！我敢忙说那时候的机票很便宜德，不上一百块。最后他也同意了。 本来母亲也来的，但是临时外婆需要人帮忙照顾，所以没来。

看到了父亲在机场，感觉他还是一样和以前一样老，没有更老。心里有一点庆辛。步伐和诗巫人一样。一看到儿子就伸出手要握手。 还好儿子也有回应，一点也不陌生。

回到家里已经快半夜了。我们烤热了父亲拿来得干饼，啄食吃起来了！我的心里想，减瘦计划又要泡汤了。。 哈哈哈

不知这着，面对着父亲的时候，开不了口向他说生日快乐。往年都是打一通电话祝他生日快乐的。

爸爸每天都跟我一起‘上班’。早出晚归。一直都在KLCC一带游玩。今天我们把他放在金河广场一带。希望他懂得走回KLCC 的方向。

在爸爸生日的过一天，在回家的途中，在328饭馆吃一餐。叫了爸爸喜欢的豆腐，一只清蒸白须公和一个炒菜。爸爸牙齿已不完整了，很多东西都不能吃了。我想一定少年时，没什么顾却牙齿的卫生。而且爸爸是一个很节省的人， 牙膏也省了起来。

本来打算在周末驾车到金马仑高原呆两三天，结果因为Farokh要standby 而除销了。跟爸爸说去马六甲玩，爸爸问说是不是我们原来得计划的。 不然就不愿去。 晚间和Farokh商量后，最后定不去了。*sigh* 有一点扫兴的感觉!

我想如果把爸爸留在身边,会容易照顾吧!他向妈妈一样,都不需要人家照顾的.

希望爸妈永远健康强壮!
